South Lyon Lions Varsity nabbed the lead late in the game in a 20-9 victory over Walled Lake Central on Wednesday. South Lyon Lions Varsity was down 9-8 in the top of the fifth inning when Ella Vitale singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
Madison McKenzie led South Lyon Lions Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. McKenzie went 3-for-3 at the plate. McKenzie drove in runs on a double in the first and a home run in the fifth.
In the first inning, South Lyon Lions Varsity got their offense started when Ava Bradshaw singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
South Lyon Lions Varsity tallied six runs in the sixth inning. Bradshaw, Emily Johnson, Ava Crumley, and Grace Walters each drove in runs during the inning.
