South Lyon Lions Varsity nabbed the lead late in the game in a 20-9 victory over Walled Lake Central on Wednesday.  South Lyon Lions Varsity was down 9-8 in the top of the fifth inning when Ella Vitale singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Madison McKenzie led South Lyon Lions Varsity to victory by driving in four runs.  McKenzie went 3-for-3 at the plate.  McKenzie drove in runs on a double in the first and a home run in the fifth.

In the first inning, South Lyon Lions Varsity got their offense started when Ava Bradshaw singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

South Lyon Lions Varsity tallied six runs in the sixth inning.  Bradshaw, Emily Johnson, Ava Crumley, and Grace Walters each drove in runs during the inning.

Walled Lake Central scored four runs in the third inning.  The offensive onslaught by Walled Lake Central was led by Eliana Eiland, Samantha Pantelic,  E McGrath, and Danielle Fick, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Bradshaw was the winning pitcher for South Lyon Lions Varsity. Bradshaw allowed eight hits and nine runs over six innings, striking out four.

Britain Beshears was in the pitcher's circle for Walled Lake Central. Beshears surrendered six runs on five hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one.  McGrath threw four and a third innings in relief.

South Lyon Lions Varsity hit three home runs on the day. Bradshaw had a four bagger in the sixth inning. McKenzie put one out in the fifth inning. Walters had a homer in the sixth inning.

South Lyon Lions Varsity racked up 20 hits.  Bradshaw, Julia Duncan, Johnson, McKenzie, Cece Dudek, Crumley, and Walters all managed multiple hits for South Lyon Lions Varsity.  Bradshaw led South Lyon Lions Varsity with four hits in five at bats.

Walled Lake Central had eight hits in the game.  Pantelic and Eiland each racked up multiple hits for Walled Lake Central.
