The South Lyon Boys Varsity Soccer Team won their second conference game of the season against Waterford Kettering. Freshman Jack Voight opened the scoring by placing a penalty kick past the Waterford Kettering keeper 22 minutes into the first half. Alexander Valencia won the penalty for the Lions after a clever through ball from Conner Harris. Kettering evened the score 1-1 on a free kick from 25 yards out in the first 5 minutes of the second half. With 18 minutes to go in the game, Jack Wilkinson played Trenton Lack in on goal and he finished the ball over the shoulder of the Kettering goal keeper, putting the Lions up 2-1. Kettering made one final push to even the score but the Lions defense held strong, led by center backs Theoren Honey and Thomas Chavez. The Lions improve to 2-1-0 on the season and will look to continue the streak next week with games against Pinckney, Waterford Mott, and Waterford Kettering.
